Southwood Furniture was founded in 1973, specializing in 18th-century upholstery that was unique to the industry - it was made standard with the highest quality and comfort.  Southwood developed a reputation as the best reproduction company in America, which led to licensee agreements with Historic New England and Historic Deerfield.  These 17th, 18th, and 19th century pieces are replicated with one important caveat: they are made with 21st century comfort.  Vanessa Majma bought Southwood Furniture in 2013.  She joined the company as its president at that time and changed the name from Southwood Furniture Corporation to Southwood Furniture.  In 2014, the company closed completely.
